JACKSON MACKAY in ENGLISH !
Hi to all of you,
I hit the road since 20 years, with the band, presenting my music all over Europe and Australia. 20 years of great fun !
I was born in Alsace, famous for it’s wine, good food, lovely mountains and the easy way of living.
I discovered Country Music when I was a teenager listening to singers like Don Williams and later Australian acts like Lee Kernaghan or Troy Cassar Daley. Those singers were a big inspiration for me and leaded me into my career as a Country Music composer and performer.
My biggest musical revelation came during a long trip through Australia. While staying at Malakoff Station near Cloncurry I heard for the first time Australian Country Music. It was the beginning of a great adventure. Back home, deeply inspired by photos of the outback, I wrote my first songs “The Lonely Bushman”, “This is Love”, and then my first album “The Game”, recorded in 1997 by Skip Mitchell at The Reflections Studio in Nashville, TN. Over the years I’ve recorded 4 albums and have earned the reputation as a honest and sensible performer. I’ve never forgotten what the bush brought to me: A sound, a spirit, and the inspiration of honest people living on our beautiful planet.
I’m very proud of my last production “Border Lands”. I had the feeling like recording the songs I always wanted to sing telling stories about life and places I’ve been around the world. Those songs took me with good success all over Europe and to Australia where I performed at some festivals( Tamworth and Wittlesea), Clubs, Bars and radio shows. Great honour was when I got an invitation from Lee Kernaghan’s agent to perform at Lee’s festival in Tamworth at the Bi-Centenial Park in 2009.
After a show in Minehead at the Butlins Festival 2011 someone wrote : “Then a treat with Frenchman Jackson Mackay and his band. They gave a very refreshing new sound with many original songs” Thanks for those words ! We loved to be on stage there.
I’m working to a new project “1959” expected for january 2013…
Thanks for reading those lines. I hope to meet you some day… somewhere around the world. Take care and peace,
Jackson Mackay
